Prior to signing with Lighthouse Adoptions we were awaiting the referral of a child though another, larger agency. Our experience with Lighthouse exceeded our expectations. We found the smaller, more personal communication to be preferable over our prior agency. Our referral was quick and in-country experience was excellent, with caring and supportive professionals to walk us through every step. I can not say enough good things about Lorien and our experience with Lighthouse. I had heard of Lighthouse through a fellow forum member. We had waited over a year for a referral through a different agency and it didnt seem like they would be able to get us a girl. When I spoke to Lorien over the phone it just felt right, but I was still skeptical when she gave us the time frame (it was very short). She was right on track and we left to go meet our little princess. The team in Moscow were outstanding.
I can not explain the patience and compassion she had with us. I emailed and called constantly! Even though this was our second adoption, I still had so many questions. Out of the 3 agencies that we have used, I would only recommend Lighthouse.
Madeline is such a special little girl. She fits in so well with our family and I only have Lorien and her team to thank. We can not imagine our lives without her.

We cannot thank Lorien and Lighthouse enough for all their assistance during our adoption from Uzbekistan. We had adopted twice before with another agency, and all I can say is that I wish that we had found Lorien a long time ago! Lorien was wonderful about updating us frequently, responded to phone calls and emails immediately and overall more than could have hoped for in an agency.
The in couuntry staff was tremendous. They took care of our very need and make sure that we experienced the awesome history and culture that surrounded us.
Our son is more than we could have hoped for. He was cared for so unbelievably well and clearly loved by the staff at the Baby Home making his transition into our family so easy.
I cannot recommend Lighthouse highly enough to anyone getting ready to embark on the adoption journey. - The Schiffers

I was told when I began this process that adoption was not for the meek. That it would involve mountains of paperwork, months of waiting, difficult decisions, and much uncertainty. This is all true. But Lorien and Lighthouse Adoptions saw us through all of this with professionalism, determination, constancy and faith. We were so incredibly fortunate to find an agency that took the time to get to know us, to find a child that was a perfect match for us, and that allowed us to have faith in the process. We will be eternally grateful to Lorien for bringing our miracle home to us, and for hearing our concerns, supporting our decisions, and sharing our joy.

We began this process with the fear of the unknown and lots of questions. We were told the most important aspect of International Adoption was choosing an agency. I believe choosing Lighthouse Adoptions was the best decision we could have made and the reason our adoption process went so smoothly. Lorien was there to answer any questions we had and to put our fears to rest. We never felt alone during the entire process, both in the states and in Russia. We were never misled or lied to. What we were told to expect is what turned in to reality. We will forever be grateful to Lorien and all the people involved in making our dreams come true and with matching us with the most wonderful little boy.
